My team and I had just completed a 3-day conference in a village high up in the Himalayas mountains. In order to get there, we had to take an overloaded, overnight 13+ hour bus ride, which only costs less than $5 US! Most of the time these buses contain wooden benches with metal pieces that poke you during the very bumpy and twisty mountainous terrain ride! We began our long trek home, by climbing once again onto the overloaded bus, together with the chickens and the goats including their aroma and all the colorful people!
Less than an hour down the bumpy unpaved road, we came to a complete stop at an army barricade. We were then told we all had to get off the bus because they were suddenly on strike! In Nepal going on strike is common and can last up to 4-5 days. The three of us found ourselves in the middle of nowhere and it was getting dark, so now our only option was, there was NO OPTION! So, we started to walk. Less than ten minutes into our walk a miracle happened! Suddenly, what seemed out of nowhere, appeared an unusually luxurious brand new car, a very rare sight to behold anywhere in Nepal, let alone in the middle of the Himalayans! The car then stops beside us, the driver rolled down the window and asks us, “Can I take you to Kathmandu?” We were so amazed, it must be God, could it be an angel? In complete awe, we climbed into the super deluxe car and had the most comfortable 13-hour ride home.
How could it be I thought, the police were there, the army was there, the road was blocked, how could this car pass by them? can it be an angel?
Wow, I tell you, when we realize that God is REALLY here with us and we acknowledge Him… He blows our mind! HALLELUJAH!
